The federally threatened golden paintbrush and Mark Sheehan, the Land Trust’s Naas Project Manager, were featured on Seattle’s King 5 news recently. The Naas Natural Area Preserve, also known as the Admiralty Inlet Natural Area Preserve, is one of 54 Washington Department of Natural Resource (DNR) Natural Areas that protects high-quality examples of native ecosystems and rare plant and animal species.
The Land Trust hosts a couple tours a year of the prairie and a number of activities to help restore the prairie. Visit the Land Trust’s event calendar often to get updates on upcoming activities at the Preserve and other Land Trust properties. The protection and restoration of the Preserve has been made possible with funds from the US Fish and Wildlife Service Coastal Program, American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, and the USDA Natural Resource and Conservation Service.
