Useless Bay

The Useless Bay Priority Area includes a valuable combination of freshwater wetlands, coastal estuarine habitat, forest, and farmland with forest edges. The diked farmland has prime farmland soils. In addition, Deer Lagoon, which lies adjacent to the priority area, has been identified as an Audubon Important Bird Area.

The Useless Bay conservation easement is farmland privately owned by the landowner and permanently protected by the Land Trust in 2008. It’s located within the Useless Bay Priority Area, and is 55-acres of important working farmland, as well as an aquifer recharge, wetlands and streams, and has stunning scenic views of Double Bluff Beach, Useless Bay and the Olympic Mountains.
