Description
Harry Case has lovingly managed his 176 acre forest for over 60 years and has now permanently protected it for future generations. At the end of 2008, he donated a conservation easement on this land to the Land Trust. The conservation easement will forever protect the property’s diverse and healthy forested condition for carbon sequestration, wildlife habitat, clean air and water, and healthy wetland and riparian systems–while continuing to generate income from the harvest, processing, and sale of forest products. Harry’s Forest Forever is near Putney and Saratoga Woods.
In addition to local benefits, Harry also protected his land to benefit the earth and sees the carbon stored in his trees as his contribution to fighting global warming.
