Spring 2009 Work Party Schedule

Spring is here and the Land Trust is ready to be working outdoors! Please email or call Jessica Larson at 360-222-3310 to sign up for the following work parties. We provide refreshments and most of the tools. Directions and other information will be provided upon confirmation.
Saturday, June 6th
9 am to 12 noon
Harry’s Forest Forever
We’ll be taking a trip down to Harry’s Forest Forever and spending the morning helping out with some spring tasks. Help us remove remove invasive plants like English holly seedlings. Join us on a small tour afterwards.
Saturday, June 13th
9 am to 12 noon
Kristoferson Creek (Camano Island)
Many trees and shrubs were planted here several years ago as part of a wetland forest restoration. We will be weeding around those plants and then tackling some of the blackberries along the forest edge. It might be wet, so bring your rubber boots.

We are looking for a few detail-oriented volunteers to help inventory golden paintbrush plants sometime in May. As the season progresses, we will also need several volunteers to help with seed collection. Please email or call 222-3310 if you are interested in helping with either of these projects; the Land Trust will provide the training. Both projects require patience and attention to detail.
