Andi Kopit

Education Coordinator

Andi joined the Land Trust in 2025 as the Education Coordinator. She has a master’s degree in Pollination Biology from Utah State University and researched routes of pesticide exposure for native bees in agricultural systems and pollinator risk assessment. Since completing her degree, she has worked in outdoor environmental education with South Whidbey School District and the Coupeville Farm to School program. She is a member of the Island County Marine Resources Committee, an advisory body to county government with the goal to protect and restore marine resources in the Puget Sound area through scientific monitoring, restoration projects and community education.

Andi is passionate about all things invertebrate, both aquatic and terrestrial, and enjoys sharing her passion with the next generation through scientific outreach and education. She believes in instilling hope and stewardship in the next generation by getting students outdoors, connecting with their environment, and participating in community science and environmental restoration. In her spare time, you may find Andi wandering around in nature, identifying the living organisms around her or putting up produce from her garden.
