Ann joined the Land Trust board in 2020. She is a native New Englander who grew up sailing on Narragansett Bay and skiing in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. In 1973, Ann ventured to Oregon for a one-year job and proceeded to fall deeply in love with the Pacific Northwest. Over the past 47 years, Ann has taught and coached at numerous colleges in Oregon and California, retiring from Reed College in 2006. Since relocating to Whidbey Island, she has served on the Whidbey Audubon Society Board as Vice President and President, teaching bird classes and leading field trips and has been an active member of the Guillemot Research Group. Ann is an avid outdoors woman and is at her best on the water or in the woods.
