Janett joined the Board in 2021. She grew up in the Puget Sound area, vacationing regularly with her family throughout Washington. She attended college in Bellingham and California, majoring in philosophy, which ultimately led to the existential question: “What am I doing in an institution, when I could be out there grabbing life!!?”
After “grabbing life” for a while, she secured a job with the Seattle Fire Department, where she has worked for the past 38 years. She is retiring in 2021 to the home she shares with her wife, Diana, on Camano Island. Together they enjoy boating the Salish Sea and beyond, hiking, birding and all the other usual “Northwesty” activities.
Janett got involved with the Land Trust in 2016 as a supporter and fundraiser during the Barnum Point project. She is excited to be joining the board and hopes to spread her enthusiasm across Camano Island.
