Sally King joined the Board in 2022. She has enjoyed the natural beauty of Whidbey Island for decades and owns a home in Greenbank. She recently retired from King County Department of Natural Resources, where her work focused on protection and restoration of forests, rivers, floodplains and wetlands. She led numerous projects to purchase and restore ecologically valuable land and water resources in the Snoqualmie River basin. Sally also worked with rural property owners to develop forest stewardship and farm plans, and to help farmers reduce flood risk on their farms. Over the last decade, Sally has worked with her community homeowner association, the Greenbank Beach & Boat Club, to explore opportunities for wetland restoration and improving local drainage.
