Protected in 2023, the 84-acre Historic Bell’s Farm conservation easement preserves this family farm for agricultural use, promoting long-term food security and conserving its open space and rural scenic character along West Beach Road. Historically known for its u-pick strawberries, Bell’s Farm grows a variety of produce and raises livestock, including ancient white park cattle, using regenerative practices that build soil health and support climate resilience. The U.S. Navy provided funding to support the protection of the farm. This project also helped secure and leverage a state farmland protection grant that helped acquire a conservation easement on Sher-footed Farm, another regenerative agriculture operation.
