Donald Borgman’s farm, a few miles east of Oak Harbor, has been in his family for generations, and Donald’s home for nearly all his life.  When he made the decision to donate the majority of the property to the Land Trust in 2018 (the 90-acre Donald Borgman Nature Preserve), he chose to keep a 39-acre piece of the farm, surrounding the historic homestead, on which he donated an agricultural conservation easement to ensure it can be farmed for many more generations.  In addition, the conservation easement allows a future parking area and trailhead along the perimeter of the farm, for visitors to access the preserve.
