The reason that Gene and Janet Zema donated 40 acres to us in 2006 is stated best by Gene. “This is not for the people. It’s for the wildlife,” he said. Located at the northwest part of Crockett Lake, this lush property includes fields, older forest, wetlands, shrubs, and tidelands that are home to a wide range of native wildlife. Coyotes are often spotted hunting in the fields and deer, otters, raptors, owls and songbirds are regular visitors to this wildlife haven.
