The events in green are open to Land Trust members and beyond! Everyone is invited and welcome to join these public events! Please note some events require registration.

MEET & MINGLE

Coupeville Recreation Hall – Coupeville
September 25 @ 6:00 – 7:30 pm

Everyone is welcome and no registration is required! Bring a friend and visit with Land Trust members, board and staff! Enjoy light refreshments and learn about Pacific Northwest forestry with an emphasis on ecological forest management from expert, Nolan Kitts. Some of the topics include:

  • The unique characteristics of Pacific Northwest forests
  • The role of disturbance and biological legacies
  • Principles of ecological forest management
  • Forest carbon and adapting to climate change
  • Best management practices for small forest landowners

GUIDED WALK & TALK SERIES

Join us in nature to explore incredible properties that have been protected by the Land Trust. Get up close and personal with old-growth forests, peaceful meadows, healthy wetlands and scenic viewpoints. Learn about native flora and fauna, different conservation attributes and more from knowledgeable guides who will share their passion with you.

Camano Ridge Trail – Camano Island 
October 5 @ 1:00 pm

Explore one of the largest contiguous properties on Camano Island at 400 acres. Follow a winding trail through a typical evergreen forest with plenty of sword ferns and maple trees, a beautiful sight in the fall.

Organic Farm School Tour – Clinton & Coupeville
October 9 @ 9:00 am – 1:30 pm

Discover the impactful work being done at the Organic Farm School’s (OFS) Maxwelton farm and learn how the Keystone Farm and Forest Preserve is adding multiple layers of learning for OFS students and the general public.
