Public Input Meeting: Lagoon Point Community Forest
Share Your Vision!
Wednesday, April 22
5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Greenbank Progressive Club – 3090 Firehouse Rd, Greenbank, WA
Over the last few years, the Whidbey Camano Land Trust has protected approximately 300 acres of forest between Smuggler’s Cove Road and Day Road. This property is now known as Lagoon Point Community Forest. Protection efforts for this project are nearly complete, and attention is now turning toward developing a long-term vision for the forest.
The goal of this project is to protect a highly significant forest area from future development, establish a substantial new public access trail system and enhance the health and diversity of the preserve’s habitat. Permanently protecting this forest will help maintain clean air and water, enhance resilience to climate change, preserve habitat connectivity, and balance these with appropriate public access.
Before drafting the Lagoon Point Community Forest Management Plan, input from the community is essential! We invite you to join us for this public input meeting to share feedback on ways the site should be managed, and help determine what kinds of opportunities generate the most excitement.
