This 165-acre property encompasses high-quality farmland, wildlife habitat and scenic vistas. Protection of this property enhances local food security efforts on Whidbey Island and preserves water quality, thereby contributing to ground water aquifer recharge. A feasibility study is being undertaken on the property to determine whether Crescent Creek, which currently runs through the farm’s ditch system, can be restored, expanding upon recent wetland and stream restoration work on the United States Navy property located immediately across Crescent Harbor Road from Crescent Harbor Farm. Restoration of Crescent Creek would provide a critical connection for Puget Sound salmon, including Chinook salmon, which have been documented utilizing the restored habitat on the Navy property.
