Giving Tuesday: A Chance to Make a Lasting Difference
Giving Tuesday was created as a simple idea — a day that encourages people to do good.
This global day of giving takes place on Tuesday, December 3. It’s a great opportunity to make a lasting difference on Whidbey and Camano islands. We hope you’ll consider a donation to the Land Trust to help keep the islands the way you love — naturally beautiful!
A donation does something else for those making a first-time gift. It provides Land Trust membership.
Our organization gets plenty of credit for incredible conservation successes. But the reality is that our wonderful members are the true heroes that fuel this work and keep the islands the way we all love. About 95 percent of our operations comes solely from private donations. And we leverage those funds 15-fold with grant funding we secure to buy and protect critical lands and conservation easements.
So, if you haven’t done so already, we’d like to invite you to become a Land Trust member and join others committed to saving our islands’ quality of life. How do you become a member? All it takes is a donation.
Land Trust membership is also darn fun! As a member, you’ll receive invitations to guided tours on protected lands. You’ll also be invited to our annual picnics, holiday open house, and other conservation events.
There’s another reason it’s a great time to become a Land Trust member. Several generous donors stepped forward to provide a $55,500 year-end, matching opportunity. Give today, double your impact and start saving treasured island lands and waters while there’s still time.
Thank you for acting locally to save the places you love.
